Our Beliefs & Values

An Inclusivity Statement

We strive to approach the exploration of Filipinx identity through the lens of decolonization, anti-racism, and intersectional feminism.

As such, this inclusivity statement will be ever evolving and changing to meet the demands of our community and in acknowledgment that ideas and identities change. A static inclusivity statement would pose a threat to our values as a collective. We cannot confront the complexities of Filipinx identity and culture in so-called Canada without reflecting on our history and our present.

Sliced Mango Collective is committed to action and learning. As a team, we know we are not perfect. There will always be room for improvement. We welcome members of Sliced Mango Collective and Filipinx-Canadian youth to hold us accountable for our actions, to this statement, to educating ourselves, and most importantly to you.

Sliced Mango Collective is based on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples: Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations.
